The GIGI is an 8-bit microcomputer-cum-graphics terminal.
It has an 8085 CPU, and in BASIC mode runs Microsoft BASIC with extensions
to load and save programs via the serial port and print via a weird daisychain
arrangement that permits multiple GIGIs to print to a single printer.
In terminal mode, the machine acts as a VT52 or ANSI (but not full
VT100) text terminal with ReGIS graphics. It works well
enough to plot the Datatrieve wombat.
